Ciklum made it easy

Within just two weeks after presenting the qualifications they were looking for, the Danish IT-company Edmware had a highly qualified engineer working full time at Ciklum's outsourcing centre in Kiev. "Ciklum made it easy", says managing director of Edmware, Jan Christensen.

Edmware was founded in 2002 and specializes in electronic document management, scanning, electronic archiving and work-flow. Edmware started outsourcing in November 2005 and has one employee at Ciklum in Kiev, Ukraine.

When the Danish IT-company, Edmware, started their search for the company's first offshore programmer, Ciklum needed less than two weeks to find the right man for the job.

"Ciklum made it very easy for us," says Jan Christensen, managing director of Edmware. "Less than two weeks after we had presented the qualifications we needed, Ciklum had found some qualified candidates."

And so in November 2005 Jan and his colleagues travelled to Ciklum's head office in Kiev, Ukraine and conducted the job interviews. They quickly chose their favourite candidate and only a little more than two weeks after making the final decision to hire offshore staff, Edmware had a cheap and highly qualified offshore programmer ready and working.

When Edmware - a developer of systems for electronic document management - first caught interest in outsourcing about three years ago, they had little knowledge about how - or where - it should take place. Fearing too big cultural differences, though, the company favoured Eastern Europe over India, and contact with another outsourcing company in Eastern Europe was already established, when Ciklum showed up.

"Ciklum was just the more convincing. They found the right man for us and were very helpful. We have never experienced any problems," says Jan.

"It's our experience that they are extremely focused on their costumers. Everything runs smoothly and we haven't had any technical or administrative questions that they couldn't handle," adds Jan. Even practical things such as travel arrangements between Denmark and Ukraine are taken care of by Ciklum.

Not only the effectiveness of Ciklum's human resources department impressed, but also the programmers' high skills. Edmware's employee at Ciklum has the level of a Master of Science in Engineering and uses all the newest technologies in programming such as .NET and C#, underlines Jan.

"Qualifications like that are almost impossible to find in Denmark - or to pay for that matter", says Jan and points out that Edmware's biggest success, the software program OctopusSuite, which captures data from internal or external sources, electronic or paper based, to a large extend was developed using the expertise of Ciklum.

So far Edmware has just one full time employee at Ciklum, but is regularly making use of Ciklum's flexibility, which allows the customer to take other employees in for shorter periods. In the near future Edmware plans to expand their cooperation with Ciklum.
